Schedule

Duration

Program Description
Sometimes referred to as Thai boxing, Muay Thai is a combat sport that combines stand-up striking with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs," as it is characterized by the use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins. Muay Thai gained international popularity in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, when practitioners from Thailand began competing in kickboxing and mixed martial arts (MMA).
At the Combat Clinic, we place a strong emphasis on fundamentals, footwork, technique, and conditioning as the foundation of our Muay Thai program. One of Coach Scott’s favorite sayings is: “Trying to execute techniques strictly for show is like building the Eiffel Tower on a wet lawn.”
Equipment Requirements:
- Boxing gloves and shin pads are required.
- A cup, mouthguard, and hand wraps are recommended.
- For sparring, wearing a cup, mouthguard, 16oz gloves, and shin pads is mandatory.
We are happy to provide gear for students who are on a free trial.
