Program Description
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a self-defense martial art and combat sport focused on grappling, ground control, and submission holds. It emphasizes taking an opponent to the ground, establishing dominant positions, and applying techniques such as joint locks and chokeholds to force submission. In No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, practitioners do not wear a traditional uniform; instead, they train in shorts, T-shirts, rash guards, and/or compression wear.
BJJ and submission grappling are highly effective for self-defense and also provide one of the most demanding workouts on our schedule. Every aspect of our curriculum can be adapted to a student’s skill level, physical abilities, and age.
Equipment Recommendations:
- A protective cup is recommended for live grappling (rolling).
- A mouthguard is recommended for class and mandatory for rolling.
